Burning speed

Remember the good old days when you had time to do other things while a CD was written? Why, often you had to re-burn it, because it didn't quite work the first time. Or the hard drive didn't volunteer up its data quickly enough, and so the poor disc got it? Which of course, all worked out for the best, because when you came back from the kitchen you found you had a new coaster for that drink.

Now, it's like 180 seconds for a 700MB disc. You can barely even sneak a cigarette.

I'm considering burning my CDs at a lower speed, just so that the breaks are longer.

Yeah, that'll work.
